Poems At Last
Since before setting up of this new web site I have wanted to share most of my efforts at poetry with you. Some was lost years ago in a flooded basement. Some I found in a file that Elspeth had kept for years written in her precise and distinctive hand. Some were in the elite type of my old Underwood typewriter. Some Blake had rescued from a previous hard drive. Some were in my writing file on my current computer. Getting them all into some sort of consistent format on my computer has been fun for me and actually getting them posted to the site required the assistance of my resident computer guru, but finally they are here. What is here for you today is a motley collection ranging from light-hearted jingles, through love poems, poems of faith and contemplation of natural beauty, to poems inspired by death and bereavemnet. They are yours to read, react to and use if you wish. |
"Perfect Love" - A New Cantata
At present I am collaborating with a friend who is a talented pianist and organist to put together a completely original Christmas cantata that we hope to have ready for the coming Christmas season for those who might be looking for something new and different in Christmas music.  The first draft of the lyrics and narration is complete, and now comes the writing of the score along with any necessary revision of text.  As we are targeting churches with volunteer choirs and limited music budgets it is our intent to make this work freely available to all.  We would appreciate your prayers that all goes smoothly as we try to bring this idea to completion.  If you are interested  and would like to receive some early preview materials please contact me by email. |
Thanks
I would be remiss in not thanking my son for the actual typesetting of the scores for my songs, and for being my on-site computer resource when things go wrong. Â As well, we both rely on my wife and daughter, the musical members of the family, for help in fine-tuning the lyrics and sorting out the odd issue of correct musical notation for us. Â Certainly it is family support that makes this all possible. |

Sandy's Songs of Faith - Volume 1
The first eighteen hymns have been compiled in booklet form, please feel free to download and print the attached files. The files are fairly large to allow for high quality printing. Â I have made the cover a separate file to make it simple to print it on slightly heavier stock to create a more durable booklet. As new lyrics are added they will be listed separately until enough are acumulated to justify doing a "Volume 2" |
