Since before setting up of this new web site I have wanted to share most of my efforts at poetry with you. Some was lost years ago in a flooded basement. Some I found in a file that Elspeth had kept for years written in her precise and distinctive hand. Some were in the elite type of my old Underwood typewriter. Some Blake had rescued from a previous hard drive. Some were in my writing file on my current computer. Getting them all into some sort of consistent format on my computer has been fun for me and actually getting them posted to the site required the assistance of my resident computer guru, but finally they are here. What is here for you today is a motley collection ranging from light-hearted jingles, through love poems, poems of faith and contemplation of natural beauty, to poems inspired by death and bereavemnet. They are yours to read, react to and use if you wish. |
